VIDEO PRODUCTION

Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to work on a wide range of projects including feature films, music videos, live events, corporate materials and expedition diaries. My roles within each of these has been equally varied encompassing editing, filming, compositing, motion graphics, audio production, DVD authoring and technical consulting. I have a comprehensive understanding of work-flows and digital pipelines and am well versed in numerous software applications on multiple platforms.

Premiere Pro is my go to software for smaller projects such as corporate videos or music videos

Having used After Effects for many years, I have a wealth of experience in compositing and motion graphics

Adobe Photoshop

I’m well versed in Media Composer having used it for numerous projects including the feature film ‘Soldiers of the Damned'

DaVinci Resolve is the backbone of finishing my projects as it is second to none for colour grading

I’ve been using Photoshop for over 20 years now! Essential software for any digital media professional

DSLR Rigs

I own a couple of DSLR rigs including lighting, large white backdrop and green screens suitable for many productions. My cameras include a Sony a7Sii which is great for low light, slow motion and can record 4K and a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera which, whilst only HD, can record RAW footage which is amazing for flexibility in post production.

Expedition

One area of my video work that is slightly more specialised is on location filming and editing in not so hospitable environments. I’ve completed a number of projects that have involved undertakings such as spending a number of months at Everest Base Camp in Nepal or summiting Kilimanjaro. Last year I was part of the Everest unit for Working Title films on their upcoming feature called ‘Everest’ starring Josh Brolin and Jake Gyllenhaal. I also went back to the Himalayas a second time to work on a series of video diaries for computer games company ‘Ubisoft’ and their ‘Quest for Everest’ expedition linked to their hit game FarCry 4. During the ‘Quest for Everest’ our goal was to get the world record for console gaming which we achieved at 18,500 feet on a peak not to far from Base Camp.

I have experience working at altitude not only physically but also with regards to technology and what works in certain situations. Everything from computers and hard drives through to satellites and internet connectivity. I thrive on the challenge of such expeditions and very much enjoy experiencing different environments and cultures.
